SIU Symphonic Band

The SIU Symphonic Band, conducted by Dr. George Brozak, is the School of Music's large wind band/ensemble. Offered in the spring semester only, membership is available to all SIU students, music majors, music minors, and non-music majors, with previous performance experience on woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments, as well as double bass, piano, and harp.

The Symphonic Band presents at least two campus concerts each year in Shryock Auditorium.

In addition to the many non-music majors in the band, many music majors choose to play secondary instruments in the Symphonic Band as well.

Auditions for the Symphonic Band are held the first class day of the spring semester.
