Wind Ensemble

The SIU Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Christopher Morehouse, Director of Bands and Professor, is the School of Music's select, touring wind band/ensemble, made up of approximately 40 of the finest instrumentalists at SIU. Membership is available to all SIU students, music majors, music minors, and non-music majors, who perform at an advanced level on woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments, as well as double bass, piano, and harp.

The Wind Ensemble performs a series of five concerts each year in Shryock Auditorium, including a performance at the annual Heartland Honor Bands and Choir Festival each February, and travels regularly on regional, national, and international tours.

Auditions for the Wind Ensemble are held the first week of the fall semester.
